Calda — Delete Your Data

Last updated: April 18, 2026

You can request deletion of any data associated with your use of the Calda mobile app at any time. Because Calda is privacy-first, nearly all of your data already lives only on your device — so deleting the app itself removes the vast majority of your records. This page walks through what exists, what we can delete, and how to ask.

How to Request Deletion

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Calda Data Deletion Request”.

Include in your message:

  • The device platform you use (iOS or Android)
  • Your Firebase instance ID if you know it (found under Settings → About in the app). If you don't know it, that's fine — we can delete by bulk request.
  • Whether you'd like analytics and crash logs deleted, purchase receipts deleted, or both.

We'll confirm the request by reply and process it within 30 days.

What Data We Hold

Calda holds very little server-side data by design. Your health records never leave your device. Here's exactly what exists and what we delete on request:

Data That Can Be Deleted

  • Firebase Analytics events — aggregated, pseudonymous event stream tied to a Firebase instance ID. Deleted on request via Google's user data deletion workflow.
  • Firebase Crashlytics reports — crash stack traces tied to the same instance ID. Deleted together with the analytics record above.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token — the opaque device token used for rare operational push notifications. Revoked on request.

Data That Is NOT Stored On Our Servers

  • Menopause and perimenopause symptoms — stored only on your device in Calda's local database.
  • Menstrual cycle and menstruation records — stored only on your device.
  • HRT medications, dosages, and adherence history — stored only on your device.
  • Personal notes and journal entries — stored only on your device.
  • Health Connect readings (sleep, heart rate, steps, menstruation) — read on-device with your permission and never transmitted off the device.
  • Reminder schedules — maintained locally by Android's alarm scheduler.

Data We Cannot Delete

  • Purchase receipts held by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Billing). These are controlled by the platform, not CrashBytes. Refund and deletion policies are governed by Google Play and Apple.
  • Aggregated, de-identified statistics that do not reference your device or instance ID. These cannot be tied back to you and are retained for product metrics.

Delete Everything Without Contacting Us

Because Calda stores your health records on-device only, you can delete 100% of your personal data without contacting support by:

  1. Uninstalling the Calda app
  2. On Android, also visiting Settings → Apps → Health Connect → Permissions and revoking Calda's access (this stops any further reads; it does not delete the data held by Health Connect itself)
  3. On iOS, also visiting Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and opting out of analytics
  4. On Android, also visiting Settings → Google → Ads and resetting your advertising ID or opting out of Ads Personalization

Doing this removes all symptom entries, medications, and on-device identifiers. Firebase will still have a small trailing analytics record keyed by instance ID for up to 60 days per Firebase's retention policy; email [email protected] if you'd like us to accelerate that deletion.

Retention Period

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. After processing, all analytics, crash report, and FCM token data tied to the requested identifier is irreversibly deleted from our Firebase project. Platform-controlled purchase records are retained per Apple / Google policies and are not under CrashBytes control.
